Meet the Artists
Our Greeting Card Collection
The Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi have been creating affordable greetings cards with a spiritual focus since the early 1980′s. We greatly appreciate your support of this ministry, and truly feel blessed to be able to share our artistic and writing gifts this way. Most of these cards are approximately 5×7 in size, including full color reproductions of photographs and watercolors.
Most of our cards are designed and produced by the Sisters. A few images are the creations of friends and Associates of the Community. By buying our cards, you help support the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi.

Photography & Beyond ~
Sharing her eye for the beauty of God’s Creation through digital photography and poetic writings, Sr. Judy creates 5×7 greeting cards, as well as small matted prints (4×6, 5×7 and 8×10).Â
Sr. Judy began as the first designer and founder of Poverello Prints before full color was as economical as it is today. Now, with the aide of computer technology she is able to design, write and produce her own line of cards. The cards are 5×7 in size and based on her photographic images, primarily of nature, landscapes, and close-ups. Verses are often spiritual in nature, flowing from the God connections Sr. Judy experiences in the rhythms and events of daily living.
Beyond photography, Sr. Judy uses her sewing talents in making decorative seasonal and year-round towels with coordinated fabric toppers. These towels work well both in the kitchen and bath as beautiful accent pieces.
c-rose’s creations ~
Sr. Ceil’s interest in watercolor, led her to experiment with the media and techniques of watercolor. The creativity of her work then evolved into some of 5X7 greeting cards, which are available for sale here.
Another creative outlet for Sr. Ceil is what she calls: Seeds-n-Stuff. Â
Mother Nature provides most of the “ingredients” for these pieces: wall and table-top art and critters. (At this time, Seeds-n-Stuff, is available only through our Poverello Gift Shop)

Sr. Helene: Basket Weaver Extraordinaire
Sr. Helene became interested in basket making while ministering in Ohio. Under the guidance of an experienced basket weaver, she began learning and producing a variety of baskets.
Learning new techniques along the way, Sr. Helene now designs her own baskets, often dying her own colors.
Sr. Helene, pretty much self-taught, has become a basket weaver extraordinaire.
Sr. Charlotte ~ Sewing, Embroidery, Quilting .... What next?
Sr. Charlotte’s creations come alive with the aid of sewing and embroidery machines. Her creativity reaches into creating her own embroidery patterns for her machine. It’s detailed work, but Sr. Charlotte seems to love the challenge.
Would you believe you can do quilting with the aid of an embroidery machine? Sr. Charlotte makes it happen.
Creating scarves and quilted wall hangings are just a couple of her skills as a seamstress. In the CornerStone Gift Shop you may also find embroidered tee-shirts and other one of a kind fabric creations.

Sr. Marcia: Seamstress and so much more
Sr. Marcia’s interest and love of sewing budded back in grade school with her introduction to hand embroidery.Â
Evolving from her own garment sewing, her interests transitioned to the more creative adventures of macramé, knitting and crocheting.Â
In her more recent years, quilting and machine embroidery fill her time. As Sr. Marcia notes, there is never lack of ideas and only time seems to limit the possibilities.
Sr. Laverne
Sr. Laverne was not born with a pair of knitting needles in her hands.Â
Rather, she didn’t learn to knit until adulthood. From then on she has been knitting dish clothes and enjoying each creation and viewing the final result.
